Hermann Wine Trail Vintners Will Tempt Travelers with Creative Chocolate and Wine Pairings
December 27, 2007 | For Immediate Release
When winter settles over Wine Country, thoughts turn to chocolate, the food of love.
In preparation for the 2008 Chocolate Wine Trail, February 16 and 17, vintners at seven Hermann-area wineries have been inventing new chocolate recipes and experimenting with wine pairings to complement their creations.
Chocolate Wine Trail travelers can look forward to such delectable delights as:
- Bissingers Chocolate Indulgences, paired with Signature Port and Jazzberry at Adam Puchta Winery
- Chilly Chocolately Sub-Zero Souffles, paired with Victorian Red at Bias Winery
- White Chocolate Bread Pudding, paired with Traminette at Hermannhof Winery
- Raspberry Chocolate Torte, paired with Almond Tree Blush at Bommarito Winery
- Double Chocolate Cherry Muffins, paired with Red Port at OakGlenn Winery
- Chocolate Waffles with Fruit Sauce, paired with Vidal Blanc at Röbller Winery
- Dark Chocolate Raspberry Truffle and a Salted Pecan, paired with 2005 Port at Stone Hill Winery
Chocolate Wine Trail tickets are $25 per person. Tickets may be purchased online at www.hermannmo.info or from the Hermann Welcome Center, 800-932-8687. A word to the wise—this is a popular event that usually sells out early.
The Chocolate Wine Trail will be held regardless of weather. Hours are 10:00 to 5:00 Saturday and 11:00 to 5:00 Sunday.
The Hermann Wine Trail meanders for 20 scenic miles along the Missouri River between Hermann and New Haven. Wine Trail vintners host four popular tasting events each year—Hermann Norton Wine Trail, second weekend of January; Chocolate Wine Trail, third weekend of February; Very Berry Wine Trail, last full weekend of July; and Holiday Fare Wine Trail, third weekend of November.
Information about Hermann Wine Trail events, individual wineries and Missouri wine is available online at www.hermannwinetrail.com.
